Freehand tattoos
A freehand tattoo is drawn directly on your skin with markers instead of being traced from a paper stencil, so the design follows the shape and movement of your shoulder, back, ribs or leg. At South Seas most large Polynesian work is done this way; in the shop’s words, the “best way to get the tattoo is to freehand draw it on the skin.”
